Verify connectivity

From the access switch, check the uplink:

Access-SW-1# show cdp neighbors
Access-SW-1# ping 10.0.0.1

Expected output (click to expand)

You should see the distribution switch listed as a CDP neighbor, and the ping should succeed (!!!!!).
